“What will happen to my child if I’m called into heaven?”

Stemming from my own personality that I was born with, as well as the countless times a friend or acquaintance has asked me this very question, I have found myself always wondering what I could do for society.

I have also been asked this by parents of children with disabilities. I considered what it would be like if my child had been born with a disability, and what I would want from society should I fall into hard times while acting as their caretaker.

I cannot turn a blind eye when people who truly need support are left by the wayside.

For years, I dreamed of creating an organization that could tie together my aspirations to change the world, but day after day passed without being able to concretely weave together my feelings of dissatisfaction.

Chance meeting with Seri’s Gift

It was then that I had a chance meeting with a single book: Born(e), then known as Seri’s Gift.

From that moment, I felt myself resonate deeply with its message, and I decided to establish the General Incorporated Association “Seri’s Gift” in January 2020 in order to realize both my own vision which I had dreamed of accomplishing alongside my new mission from the perspective of people like those depicted in the non-fictional novel.

Amidst sharing the story of Born(e) with the world in various forms, our illustrious goal for this project has been to collect the hidden voices calling out for help around the world.

We continue our mission to act as an “accelerator,” hearing the voices of those who are vulnerable or in need of support—those who do not readily appear in the limelight—and connecting them with people and institutions who can lead them to a resolution.

A new start as the “TruBlue Association”

As of April 2023, our organization has adopted a new name to make a fresh new start.

We will broaden our horizons, proactively plan and deliver more projects than before, and accomplish what we need to do within the broader jurisdiction of Japan and the United States.

The phrase “true blue” in English refers to firmness of purpose, loyalty, and fidelity, which is the way the world and the people living on it should be.
However, we have removed the “e” in “true” to highlight our message that our current society is not yet where it ought to be.

To the next generation

How will we be able to help to heal these societal wounds? I am well aware that achieving our mission will be a more rigorous path than can be expressed in words.

However, I could not stand idly by and do nothing.

I believe that should my attempts be passed on to the next generation, there may one day be something good to come of them; and so each day I have no choice but to move forward one step at a time holding tight to my convictions.

Our activities will not take place in Japan alone, but will advance with U.S. as well as global cooperation.

I ask humbly for your support.

Sincerely,

Yuichiro Morinaga (President),
